How to Use AI Trading Reviews in Your Notion Journal

    Updated: July 6, 2026

AI Trading Reviews turn your Notion journal trades into structured coaching reports: performance snapshots, breakdowns by session/model/pair, and an AI-written review you can read in FxJournalStats or optionally publish back to Notion.

Availability: PRO and Lifetime plans. You need a Notion-connected journal with a trades database.

If you are new to FxJournalStats, start with Guide to Adding Analytics to Your Notion Journal.

    What you get #

    Each review includes:

    • Performance snapshot — net P/L, win rate, trade count, rule adherence, and related KPIs
    • Breakdowns — model, session, pair, tags, and optional custom Notion fields
    • Coach review — AI narrative with actionable feedback (verify important decisions yourself)
    • Optional Notion copy — publish the report to a Notion database you choose

Reviews are always saved in FxJournalStats first. Notion publish is optional.

    Step 1: Open Reviews #

From your Dashboard, open a linked journal and click Reviews on the journal card. You can also open Reviews from the dashboard side navigation (PRO and Lifetime users only).

You'll land on the Reviews list for that journal account.

Step 2: Choose how reviews run #

There are two ways to use reviews — pick one or use both:

Generate reviewA one-off report for a week or month you choose
Automatic reviewsWeekly or monthly reports on a schedule

Reviews empty state with Generate review and Set up automatic reviews

    Generate a one-off review #

    1. Click Generate review in the page header.
    2. Select your source trades database (defaults to your journal database).
    3. Map Notion properties if column names differ from the template (see Property mapping below).
    4. Pick a period — this week, last week, last 30 days, this month, last month, or custom range.
    5. Optionally add filters (e.g. Account = Live when one database holds multiple accounts).
    6. Optionally enable Publish to Notion and pick a review database.
    7. Click Generate.

Generation usually takes 20–40 seconds. You can close the modal; the list updates when the review completes.

    5. Click Save schedule.

    Property mapping #

Reviews need at least these Notion properties mapped:

    FieldUsed for
    DatePeriod filtering
Profit/LossP&L, win rate, all core stats

Recommended fields improve coach quality: Session, Model, Direction, Pairs, Followed rules, tags, Rating, Account, WIN, Notes.

If recommended fields are missing, the review still generates but some sections show setup tips or limited data instead of full analysis.

    Publish to Notion (optional) #

Toggle Also publish to Notion in the generate or schedule modal, then select a review database shared with the FxJournalStats integration.

Suggested properties on the destination database: Name (title), Date, Period (select: Instant / Weekly / Monthly).

If publish fails but the review saved in the app, status shows Partial — use Retry publish after fixing sharing or reconnecting Notion.
